The science:

  • We firmly believe that diet, or weight management as we call it, should be based on science and not on hearsay of fads.
     
  • Throughout the past 10 years, there have been numerous, peer reviewed clinical studies comparing the outcomes of different diets in terms of weight loss and sustainability. All these studies have shown that ketogenic or high protein diets have the very best outcomes for both absolute weight loss and long term sustainability.   • The reason these diets are so effective, is that they force the body to burn body fat and not muscle. Normal low calorie or low fat diets, including weight watchers and others, do not focus on fat. The loss of weight will include the loss of muscle.   • Starch and sugar are not, and never have been, essential for human life. These foods have been developed in the past 5,000 years. Whilst they now make up for more than 60% of most people’s diet they are actually causing the obesity crisis. Starch is perfect for a person who is working in a field for 15 hours a day, as a fast easy energy source. We do not, however, need fast easy energy to sit behind a wheel or a computer.
