This crusade first started when I watched two fat men get thin, and stay thin - without counting points or calories, having to starve themselves, drink shakes or take pills. All they did, was take advice from a real expert in weight loss. A real expert is not a dietician, a nurse, or a woman’s magazine. A real expert is someone who is either a specialist doctor or a biochemist. These specialists did what any expert in human biochemistry would do...they put these fat men on a ketogenic diet, otherwise known as a high protein diet.
The diet is very effective, because it deals with the real cause of obesity. Obesity is not about eating too much, eating too much fat or being lazy. Large clinical trials show conclusively, that most obese and overweight people gain weight because they are producing too much insulin and insulin is the hormone that makes the body “collect fat”.
This is very hard to understand or believe if you have counted calories all your life. However, in all clinical trials, which have compared a calorie reduced diet with a ketogenic diet, the best performing diet is always the ketogenic diet. Ketogenic diets are quite simple. Cut out starch and sugar. What is difficult, in the modern world, is finding food products that have not been stuffed with starch and, or sugar.
But perhaps the biggest barrier to most people becoming thin is not just the lack of good food choices, but the bollocks being peddled to the general public by a whole range of irresponsible, apparent experts. There are currently 6 myths being sold to you which explain why you are struggling to lose weight.
