I started Go Lower because I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to share in and benefit from the best healthy eating and weight loss secret I have ever learned.
Seven years ago I watched two very fat men get thin and stay thin. They did it by consulting with a private doctor, who put them on a special diet. They did not count calories, nor did they have red days or green days. They didn’t have to go to classes, nor did they live on protein shakes. They just ate real, natural, food.
For a large sum of money, the private doctor had put them on a specially designed metabolic diet which triggered their bodies into ketosis. The diet got amazing results fast, and no one knew these men were trying to lose weight. Some people call this diet the caveman diet or the hunter gatherer diet. For me it is simply the diet that works.
Once I learned what they had done, I decided to find out if the science behind the diet was robust. I gave up my full time career and, after 3 years of research and speaking to some of the very best bio-chemists and doctors across the UK and the US, I found out how this metabolic diet works and how I could do it for myself. I even got a little help from my G.P. husband, Andy, too!
Fired by the wish to share this knowledge with everyone, but also aware of how busy the average person is, I decided to do more than simply write a book. I would make the food, to allow even the most busy and stressed person to benefit from what I had learned. So I went into my kitchen and got to work. The go lower weight loss programme is the result.
